Delhi Police Busts International Luxury Car Theft Syndicate

8 Arrested in Connection with Trafficking Stolen High-End Vehicles

by Ananya Mehta

The Delhi Police Crime Branch has successfully dismantled an international luxury car theft syndicate led by a mastermind based in Dubai. The ARSC unit exposed the gang that trafficked high-end stolen vehicles across India. To date, authorities have seized 15 luxury cars, along with fake license plates, forged registration certificates, and duplicate remote keys.

The breakthrough in the investigation came in August 2024 with the arrest of Taj Mohammad alias Taju, a key member responsible for delivering stolen cars. His interrogation revealed the syndicate’s broader operations, leading to the recovery of several vehicles stolen from various states across India.

Police investigations revealed that the gang was operating across Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and other regions. The stolen vehicles were transported to far-reaching areas, including West Bengal, Maharashtra, and the Northeast, with some vehicles even reaching remote locations like Dimapur, Nagaland. Some of the stolen cars were dismantled and sold for spare parts in the black market.

The gang’s tech expert, Imran Khan alias Guddu, was responsible for hacking car Engine Control Modules (ECMs), enabling the syndicate to start cars without the original keys. The gang utilized advanced key-programming devices, GPS jammers, and blank keys, tools supplied under the direction of the mastermind, Amir Pasha, who coordinated the operation from Dubai.

So far, eight suspects have been arrested. They have been identified as:

The Delhi Police have recovered 15 vehicles, including high-end models like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Toyota Fortuner, Innova Crysta, Maruti Brezza, and Swift. These vehicles were stolen from various parts of the city and surrounding regions.

The Crime Branch is continuing its investigation into the syndicate’s operations. A Look Out Circular (LOC) has been issued against Amir Pasha, and extradition proceedings have been initiated to bring him from Dubai for further questioning and legal action.
