In a major breakthrough, the Central District Police successfully dismantled a large-scale fake identity card racket and arrested three individuals involved in forging documents and illegally updating Aadhaar details using impersonated biometric data.

The racket was uncovered by a vigilant team from the Police Post Turkman Gate, operating under the Police Station Chandni Mahal. The arrested individuals have been identified as Ashish (26), a resident of Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh; Satish alias Jimmy (36) from Uttam Nagar, Delhi; and Md. Firoz from Daryaganj, Delhi. Another individual, Toshif, remains on the run, and police are actively working to apprehend him.

The breakthrough came on April 19, 2025, when the police team, during routine patrolling, received intelligence about illegal Aadhaar updates being conducted at a shop in Chitli Kabar, Delhi. Acting swiftly on the tip-off, the Delhi Police raided the shop and arrested Ashish, who was found to be in the process of fraudulent Aadhaar updates.

Authorities are continuing the investigation, and efforts are underway to arrest Toshif and fully uncover the network behind the illegal activities.
