Delhi Police have arrested two men for allegedly stealing four mobile phones during football superstar Lionel Messi’s G.O.A.T. India Tour event at Arun Jaitley Stadium, officials confirmed on Thursday.

The arrests followed multiple complaints about mobile phone thefts during the event on December 15. Acting on intelligence and CCTV footage from areas around the stadium, police intercepted the suspects near the Rajghat area while they were reportedly trying to sell the stolen devices.

The accused have been identified as Sameer (23) and Abdullah (40). During a search, authorities recovered four stolen mobile phones—two from each suspect. Three of the phones were linked to two FIRs, while police are still tracing the owner of the fourth device.

During questioning, the duo admitted to targeting crowded events to steal mobile phones, according to police officials.
