The Delhi Police has arrested three individuals allegedly involved in the theft of artificial jewellery worth Rs10 lakh from a bullock cart near Sarai Khalil in Sadar Bazar on Holi. The police have fully recovered the stolen jewellery, which was hidden in a rented shop, and have also seized a mini-truck used in the crime.
According to the police, due to the rush during Holi, the complainant had parked a bullock cart loaded with 19 cartons of imitation jewellery near Sarai Khalil overnight. By the next morning, the cartons were missing. CCTV footage revealed that four individuals had stolen the jewellery using a mini-truck.
Following the investigation, police arrested the alleged receiver, Mohammed Hasmuddin, in Sangam Vihar on March 22, and recovered the stolen jewellery from his shop. Based on Hasmuddin’s statements, police were able to locate and arrest two more suspects, Omkar and Mohammed Farman, on March 23.
