The Delhi Police announced on Tuesday the arrest of Darshan Singh and Sunil, the parents of Pankaj Lamba, the prime suspect in the murder of Harshita Brella, who was tragically killed in London last year. The arrests were made in connection with a dowry harassment and cruelty case filed by Brella’s parents.
Surendra Chaudhary, Deputy Commissioner of Police for South-West Delhi, confirmed the arrests. “Darshan Singh, the father of Pankaj Lamba, and his mother Sunil have been arrested and remanded to judicial custody,” said Chaudhary. He further revealed that Lamba’s sister, Uma, is currently absconding, and police are conducting raids to apprehend her. Additionally, a Look Out Circular (LOC) has been issued for Pankaj Lamba, and efforts are being made to declare him as a proclaimed offender.
The police investigation continues as authorities focus on locating the remaining family members involved in the case. This development comes amidst the ongoing efforts to bring justice for Harshita Brella, whose tragic murder has deeply affected her family.
