In a significant breakthrough, the Delhi Police’s Anti-Burglary Cell arrested habitual burglar Raja Das (29) on Sunday for stealing a Crompton water motor from a residence in Hauz Khas Enclave. Raja, originally from Howrah, West Bengal, and currently residing in Chirag Delhi, was identified after police analyzed over 50 CCTV camera footage from the area.
The case, registered on June 18 at the Safdarjung Enclave police station, was initiated following a complaint by Reeta, a Hauz Khas Enclave resident who reported the theft. A special police team, led by Inspector Ram Kumar and supervised by ACP Vijay Kumar, conducted the investigation.
Raja was apprehended from Chirag Delhi on June 20, where police recovered the stolen water motor from his rented accommodation. Interrogation revealed Raja’s confession and a criminal history including four prior theft cases in 2024 and a recent jail stint.
