The Delhi Police cracked a robbery case within 48 hours, arresting four individuals and recovering Rs 18,000 in cash along with a stolen Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, officials said on Friday.
The arrested accused are:
Amit alias Kaku (21), Vijay Enclave, Palam Dabri
Pawan (22), Vijay Enclave, Palam Dabri
Manish alias Churri (21), Mahavir Enclave
Sonam (19), Vijay Enclave, Dwarka
On November 3, a complainant reported that after arriving from IGI Airport to Dhaula Kuan Bus Stand around 1:30 a.m., he boarded a private Maruti Suzuki Tour car occupied by three men and a woman. During the journey, the woman allegedly abused and threatened him, while the men forcibly took his mobile phone and debit cards, later withdrawing Rs 33,000 from his bank account. His phone was destroyed, and he was abandoned at an isolated location.
A case was registered under FIR No. 283/2025 at Delhi Cantt Police Station, and a dedicated team was formed under ACP Anil Kumar and SHO Inspector Shyoram, including Sub Inspector Jasbir Malik and other officers.
Analysis of CCTV footage from NH-48, Vasant Kunj Road, MR Road, and Mahipalpur Road led to a suspicious Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, rented by Amit alias Kaku. A swift raid resulted in his arrest along with Manish alias Churri. Following their disclosures, Pawan and Sonam were also apprehended from their residences.
Amit alias Kaku: 4th-class pass, private cab driver, orphan, with nine prior criminal cases, including robbery, theft, and Arms Act violations. Previously arrested by Gurugram Police.
Pawan: 12th pass, cab driver.
Manish alias Churri: Class 10, unemployed, close associate of Amit.
Sonam: Studied up to Class 4, juvenile criminal record with four robbery cases, previously sent to Observation Home.
The accused have confessed to the robbery, and police are investigating their involvement in other similar offences.
