A major breakthrough came on Saturday as gangster Joginder Gyong was arrested by a joint team of the Delhi Police Special Cell and the Haryana Police Special Task Force in the Philippines. The operation was carried out with close coordination from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which had issued a Red Notice for Gyong’s arrest.
Gyong, a wanted criminal, is linked to a murder case from Panipat dating back to December 30, 2017. In addition to this, he has been implicated in 28 criminal cases, including five murders. Notably, one of the victims was Gurlal Brar, the cousin of gangster Goldy Brar, who was killed in October 2020. Furthermore, Gyong is also believed to be involved in the 2022 murder of Sandeep Nangal Ambian, an international kabaddi player, who was shot dead in Punjab.
The arrest is a significant step toward dismantling Gyong’s notorious crime syndicate, and further investigations are ongoing.
