In a shocking incident, a man allegedly killed his wife in Delhi’s Seelampur and later walked into the Seelampur Police Station to confess on Sunday.

Delhi Police confirmed that the accused informed them about the crime. Following his confession, a police team rushed to the location and discovered the body of a 24-year-old woman.

The Crime and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) teams processed the scene and collected crucial evidence. The body of the deceased was sent to GTB Hospital for post-mortem examination.

A case under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been registered. The accused has been arrested, and further investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the crime, according to police officials.

Delhi has witnessed multiple murder cases in recent months:

August: Pradeep Kumar allegedly killed his wife Jayshree and two daughters over a domestic dispute. Jayshree’s brother stated that her husband was a gambler and drunkard, which led to frequent conflicts.

July: Ruchika Sewani and her son were murdered in Lajpat Nagar by her husband’s employee, reportedly to avenge being scolded.

July: Two men, Sandeep and Arif, stabbed each other to death in Tilak Nagar following a heated argument.

April: A 20-year-old youth, Sameer, was shot dead by unknown bike-borne assailants in Seelampur.

Police continue to investigate these incidents as part of ongoing efforts to curb rising violent crimes in the national capital.
