DeAundra Smith Arrested for Identity Theft and Fraud in Macon, GA

Cordele woman faces 125 charges for stealing personal information and credit card fraud

DeAundra Smith, 25, of Cordele, Georgia, was arrested on January 24, 2025, on charges related to identity theft, credit card theft, and financial fraud, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).

Smith is facing a total of 125 charges, including 38 counts of identity theft, 19 counts of computer trespass, 18 counts of financial transaction card theft, and 50 counts of financial transaction card fraud. The Tifton Police Department requested the GBI’s assistance with the investigation on January 16, 2025, after discovering that Smith, while employed at a job in Tifton, had been stealing customers’ personal information using her work computer. She then used the stolen data to pay her own bills.

Some of the victims, including elderly individuals, were unaware they had been targeted until the investigation uncovered the fraud. Smith was taken into custody on January 24, 2025, and is currently being held at the Tifton County Jail.
