BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A 21-year-old man, Deantae Walker, has been arrested in connection with the theft of eight Corvettes from the GM Bowling Green Assembly Plant earlier this week.

According to the Bowling Green Police Department (BGPD), authorities were alerted after a transport driver received an unusual request to pick up a 2017 Corvette at an American Avenue address. Upon arrival, he was met by two men who claimed to have three brand-new 2025 Corvettes needing transport. Noticing damage on one of the vehicles, the driver found the situation suspicious and called police.

Officers arrived at the scene and chased down one suspect, later identified as Walker, in a parking lot. The second suspect escaped in a Jeep with Ohio license plates.

Investigators verified the VINs of the three Corvettes at the scene, confirming they were among the eight stolen from the GM plant. The total value of the recovered vehicles is estimated at $350,000.

Walker was taken into custody and refused to cooperate with officers. He is currently being held at Warren County Regional Jail. Meanwhile, police continue their search for the remaining five stolen Corvettes and the second suspect.
