EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Authorities have arrested three individuals after a major fentanyl and firearm bust in Evansville.
Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Discovery
The Vanderburgh County Drug Task Force was conducting surveillance on a residence on East Louisiana Street when they saw Deangela Bishop and another person enter the home before leaving in a car.
Deputies pulled the vehicle over for a traffic violation and discovered a purse on the floorboard near Bishop’s seat. Although she denied ownership, officers found her ID inside, along with multiple baggies of fentanyl. Upon further search, authorities found more fentanyl on her person. Bishop was arrested and is being held without bond.
SWAT Raid Uncovers More Drugs & Weapons
Following Bishop’s arrest, SWAT and Drug Task Force agents executed a search warrant at the residence. Inside, they encountered Dalyn Rhodes and Demetres Gray Jr.
Authorities described a cloud of light-colored powder floating through the air, which tested positive for fentanyl. The powder was reportedly clogging the bathtub drain, prompting officers to shut off the water supply.
Throughout the home, police recovered:
Multiple semi-automatic firearms
Ammunition
Digital scales
Large quantities of fentanyl powder
Both Rhodes and Gray Jr. were covered in fentanyl powder when arrested.
Charges & Investigation
All three suspects face multiple felony charges, including drug trafficking and possession. Authorities continue their investigation and urge the public to remain vigilant as fentanyl-related cases rise.
