VAN, Texas — A man suspected of being involved in a series of thefts and burglaries across East Texas has been arrested, according to the Van Police Department.
Authorities identified the suspect as Daylon Blue, who was booked into the Smith County Jail on December 11 following an investigation that began on November 28. Police said the probe stemmed from multiple reports of criminal mischief, theft, and burglary of buildings within the city limits of Van.
Blue was taken into custody during a traffic stop, police said. He now faces numerous charges, including evading arrest with a motor vehicle, multiple drug-related offenses, reckless driving, and several counts of burglary and theft.
The charges against Blue include:
Evading arrest or detention with a motor vehicle
Manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance (Penalty Group 1, 1g–4g)
Manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance (Penalty Group 3/4, under 28g)
Reckless driving
Burglary of a building (two counts)
Theft of services valued between $2,500 and $30,000
Criminal mischief ranging from $100 to $30,000
Burglary of a coin-operated machine (two counts)
Police said Lisa O’Sullivan, identified as the second suspect in the Van cases, turned herself in on December 9 and was booked into the Van Zandt County Jail.
Investigators further stated that Blue has been linked to similar crimes in multiple jurisdictions, including Van Zandt County, Henderson County, Seven Points, Malakoff, Mabank, Athens, Wills Point, and Edgewood. Additional charges may be pending as investigations continue.
