by Amelia Crawford

GRANVILLE, NY – A 33-year-old Granville woman has been arrested for allegedly stealing more than $13,000 from the Dollar General store where she worked in Whitehall.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Dawn L. Petteys, who faces a charge of third-degree larceny, a Class D felony.

Investigators allege that Petteys, as part of her job duties, failed to deposit the store’s proceeds on multiple occasions, ultimately misappropriating over $13,000.

Petteys was arraigned in Centralized Arraignment and released on her own recognizance. She is scheduled to appear in Whitehall Village Court at a later date.
