David Snow Arrested for Wife’s Murder in Castle Hayne, NC

Man charged with first-degree murder after welfare check

CASTLE HAYNE, N.C. — A man from Castle Hayne was arrested in South Carolina on Thursday for allegedly murdering his wife.

The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office (NHCSO) responded to a welfare check at 3221 Whitewood Way on July 24. Deputies discovered 68-year-old Lynda Neubeck dead from blunt force trauma.

Authorities issued an arrest warrant for 61-year-old David Snow, who left the area after the incident.

The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) arrested Snow during a traffic stop on July 24 around 9:30 p.m. Officers stopped his vehicle on Ocean Highway near Vanderbilt Boulevard after identifying him.

Snow is currently being held at the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office awaiting transfer to North Carolina authorities. NHCSO confirmed he is charged with first-degree murder.

The investigation remains ongoing.
