by Sophia Bennett

RIPLEY COUNTY, Mo. (KAIT) — A Missouri man was arrested after a joint law enforcement search led to the recovery of multiple stolen vehicles, firearms, and illegal drugs.

David Michael Brannon faces charges of receiving stolen property following a search conducted on October 8 by the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol, and Carter County Sheriff’s Office.

During the operation, deputies recovered a 2021 Gulf Stream Ameri-Lite camper stolen from Scott County, a 2005 Chapparal Coachman camper reported stolen from Carter County, and an orange and black enclosed trailer with a defaced identification number.

A search of Brannon’s main residence uncovered a significant weapons cache and narcotics. Deputies seized:

5 pistols

4 revolvers

11 rifles

3 shotguns

Numerous rounds of ammunition

They also discovered a baggie testing positive for methamphetamine, along with scales, baggies, a metal straw, a spoon, and a $1 bill — all located in a dresser drawer containing Brannon’s ID.

Brannon was booked into the Ripley County Jail on a $35,000 cash/surety bond. If released, he must avoid contact with anyone charged or convicted of a felony or violent misdemeanor, follow a curfew, and submit to regular drug testing at the detention center.

In a Facebook post, Carter County Sheriff Alonzo Bradwell praised Ripley County Sheriff Rad Talbert for his collaboration in recovering the stolen property.
