A Greenville man, Darrius Kendrell Staton, 24, was arrested by the Greenville Police Department on February 7 following a December 2025 shooting incident.
Staton faces multiple felony charges, including:
Attempted first-degree murder
Assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and inflict serious injury
According to arrest warrants, Staton allegedly assaulted the victim with a handgun on December 14, 2025, causing serious injury and attempting to take the victim’s life.
He remains held at the Pitt County Detention Center without bond. Staton’s first court appearance is scheduled for February 9, 2026.
