The action is being taken under Section 68F(1) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, with the seized assets to be formally confirmed after completing the necessary legal formalities.

According to DCP Crime and Traffic Manpreet Singh Sudan, Darpan and Karan were involved in procuring heroin from Delhi and supplying it across the Tricity region using private vehicles. Both brothers are already facing at least three cases under the NDPS Act.

As part of the ongoing attachment process, authorities are seizing a car and a motorcycle valued at approximately Rs 7 lakh.

Darpan was arrested on October 1, 2022, from Sector 31 with 100 grams of heroin by the Crime Branch Sector 26.

Karan was arrested on April 11, 2022, near Chownki village with 6 grams of heroin by Detective Staff under Chandimandir police.

Police Commissioner (ADGP) Sibash Kabiraj confirmed that all properties acquired through illegal drug trade would be traced and confiscated. He also instructed district units to identify active drug traffickers, trace their illegal assets, and take stringent legal measures, including demolition of unlawful structures if necessary.
