ABERDEEN, Md. — A police search at an Aberdeen hotel led to the arrest of Darnell Mitchell, 40, and Riyad Carter, 21, after officers seized drugs, a firearm, and cash.

The Aberdeen Police Department conducted a targeted investigation into drug sales at a hotel on W. Bel Air Ave. Police served nine search warrants, leading to the discovery of illegal substances and a weapon.

Aberdeen Police Chief Henry Trabert emphasized the department’s commitment to removing illegal drugs and firearms from the community, stating:
“Our Special Operations Unit’s mission is to disrupt those who are conducting illegal drug sales and possessing illegal firearms in our community.”
Hotel management has stated they are working to remove individuals involved in criminal activity from the premises.
