Seelampur Police in New Delhi have arrested two men in connection with a robbery inside an e-rickshaw on Tuesday morning.
The 26-year-old complainant from Loni, Ghaziabad reported that while travelling from 66-Futa Road to Brahmpuri, three passengers threatened him with a blade and stole his wallet containing rS2,900 and important documents.
An FIR No. 93/26 under Sections 309(6)/3(5) BNS was registered, and an investigation was launched. Using technical and local intelligence, police arrested Danish, alias Dattu (28), and Sharafat, alias Chhota (30), both residents of New Seelampur.
Authorities recovered the blade, part of the stolen cash, and the victim’s wallet and documents. One associate of the gang remains at large, and investigations are ongoing.
Separately, CCTV footage circulated on social media highlighted a robbery on February 10 in the Maujpur area of North East Delhi, committed by the notorious Gala Ghotu (Choking) gang, where a young man was ambushed while returning home from work.
Police continue efforts to apprehend remaining suspects and curb such street and e-rickshaw robberies in Delhi.
