AIRDRIE, AB — A 32-year-old woman from Sundre, Danielle Kelly, is facing 21 new charges in connection with multiple vehicle and credit card thefts in Airdrie, according to a press release issued by Airdrie RCMP on July 4 and updated Tuesday.
Police say that between June 26 and July 1, Kelly broke into lockers at a recreational center in Airdrie, stealing car keys and credit cards. The stolen credit cards were later used to make fraudulent purchases throughout the city.
On Canada Day at 1:09 p.m., officers responded to a landlord-tenant dispute at a residence where Kelly was found and arrested. Investigators were able to link her to the theft cases already under investigation.
Kelly now faces charges from six separate RCMP investigations, including:
3 counts of theft of a motor vehicle
1 count of theft of vehicle keys
8 counts of breaching release conditions
3 counts of breaching probation
1 count of credit card theft
4 counts of unlawful credit card use
1 count of obstructing a police officer
In addition to the new charges, Kelly was arrested on 48 outstanding warrants across Alberta.
Following a judicial interim hearing, she was remanded into custody.
