MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Daniel Lopez, 48, was arrested on Friday after allegedly stabbing three individuals at a third-floor apartment in Miami-Dade County. According to the arrest report, Lopez accused the victims of stealing his wallet and attacked them with a knife, injuring one in the head.

After the assault, Lopez fled the scene, jumping from the apartment balcony at 12980 SW 246 St., running into a nearby field, and hiding under an abandoned boat. Deputies, assisted by K9s and a helicopter, located Lopez later that afternoon.

Upon his arrest, Lopez reportedly claimed his innocence, stating in Spanish, “I am going to beat this case. Those three are drug addicts; I am the innocent one here.” He was booked into Turner Guilford Correctional Center at 8:25 p.m., facing three counts of second-degree attempted murder and one charge of resisting arrest without violence.
