(ABC 6 News) — On May 31, Olmsted County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 43-year-old Daniel Hill after he fled police in a stolen truck at the Walmart south parking lot in Rochester.
Deputies responded around 12:30 p.m. after receiving reports that Hill was in a stolen vehicle. Hill attempted to escape, driving erratically including on bike paths and off-road areas. His vehicle eventually became stuck, leading to his arrest. Hill was taken to the hospital as a precaution after mentioning he had ingested narcotics.
Hill had just been involved in a separate incident days earlier, where he allegedly threatened a woman in Marion Township with a gun and attempted to run her over with the same stolen truck.
On June 2, Hill was formally charged with multiple offenses related to both incidents:
From the Marion Township case: 2nd-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, terroristic threats, motor vehicle theft, receiving stolen property, domestic assault, and violation of a Domestic Abuse No Contact Order (DANCO).
From the Rochester incident: fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, and 3rd-degree damage to property.
Hill remains in custody as investigations continue.
