MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) – A test drive at a Mobile car dealership took a criminal turn on Monday evening when two individuals allegedly stole a vehicle from Pearl Motors on Cottage Hill Road, leading to their arrest.
Officers with the Mobile Police Department responded to the dealership around 5:51 p.m. after receiving reports of a stolen vehicle. According to the dealership, two individuals had requested a test drive, but after the employee exited the vehicle at the end of the ride, the pair drove off without returning.
Police identified and arrested Dandrea Wilkes, 43, and Deandrea Loftin, 34, both of Mobile, shortly after the incident. The two suspects were charged with first-degree theft of property and transported to Metro Jail.
The stolen vehicle was not immediately reported as recovered, and further details about the incident may be released as the investigation continues.
