AUBURN, Ala. (WBMA) – A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged with second-degree assault following an altercation at an Auburn apartment complex early Sunday morning.
The Auburn Police Department reported that D’Andre Frederick Hartwell was taken into custody on Tuesday at the police department after a felony warrant was issued for his arrest.
Incident Details
The assault occurred in the 700 block of West Magnolia Drive. Officers responded to the location after receiving a complaint and found two victims with non-life-threatening injuries. Both were transported to local hospitals, where they received treatment and were later released.
During the investigation, police determined that the incident stemmed from a physical altercation in the parking lot of the apartment complex involving the two victims and another identified individual. Authorities confirmed that all parties knew each other, and the altercation was an isolated incident.
Ongoing Investigation
The Auburn Police Department is continuing its investigation, with additional criminal charges pending. Police have also reviewed videos of the incident circulating on social media as part of their evidence collection.
Hartwell was booked into the Lee County Jail and is being held on a $25,000 bond.
