IRVINE, Calif. — A 23-year-old man, Damian Bravo, was arrested by Irvine police after he was caught allegedly filming a video up a woman’s skirt inside a Walmart store.

According to the Irvine Police Department, Bravo was detained last week after Walmart security on Von Karman Avenue noticed the suspicious behavior and contacted authorities. During the investigation, officers found hundreds of hidden camera videos on Bravo’s phone, many showing upskirt angles of women taken without their knowledge. The footage is believed to span at least two years and involves numerous victims.

Bravo has been booked on suspicion of invasion of privacy and has since been released on bail.

Detectives are now working to identify and contact additional victims, some of whom may be unaware they were recorded. “He’s favored Walmart and Target,” said Officer Kyle Oldoerp. “Our concern is there are other victims who are unaware this has occurred.”

While the motive behind the recordings remains under investigation, Oldoerp noted that in many similar cases, such videos are used for personal gratification, traded, or uploaded to illicit hidden camera websites.

Police have confirmed one identified victim so far, but say many more appear in the footage. “It’s absolutely troubling to us,” Oldoerp added. “If anybody recognizes this man or thinks they may have been a victim, we encourage them to contact us.”
