Dahlonega Man Benjamin Toombs Arrested for Trade Secret Theft

Ex-Employee Stole $14M in Intellectual Property

A Dahlonega man, Benjamin Clayton Toombs (60), was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly stealing trade secrets valued at over $14 million from America’s Home Place, a Gainesville-based business.

Electronic Data Alerted Authorities
Toombs, a former employee of the company, allegedly stole proprietary and intellectual property, including exclusive trade secrets.

After his employment ended, electronic data alerted authorities to the theft, leading to an investigation by the Gainesville Police Department.

Arrest & Charges
Toombs was arrested and booked into the Hall County Jail on a theft of trade secrets charge. He has since been released on bond.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not yet disclosed further details regarding the stolen information.
