Three men from Liverpool have been sentenced to a combined 16-and-a-half years in prison after admitting to conspiracy to steal motor vehicles. The sentencing took place at Liverpool Crown Court on Friday, 2 May, following an in-depth investigation into the keyless theft of 81 cars across Merseyside, Cheshire, Lancashire, and North Wales.
The defendants were identified and sentenced as follows:
Curtis Morrison, 31, of Sparrow Hall Road, Walton – 6 years
Sean Fagan, 31, of Whitney Road, Woolton – 6 years
Daniel Johnston, 37, of Ingrave Road, Walton – 4.5 years
These thefts occurred between April and October 2022, and were part of a broader operation known as Operation Cherry.
Detective Sergeant George Easterbrook emphasized the impact of car theft on victims, noting that cars are often among the most valuable items individuals own. “Car theft is totally unacceptable, and we are determined to reduce these offences. Getting these three off the streets is a significant step in that direction,” he said.
He also praised the work of the investigation team: “Their determination to see justice served has led to these men being jailed.”
