Summit, Mississippi (April 21) — The Pike County Sheriff’s Office Gang Unit, in coordination with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, conducted a successful operation on April 21 that led to the arrest of two individuals, Curtis Floyd and Tyesha Martin, and the discovery of illegal drugs and a firearm.
The search warrant was executed as part of an ongoing investigation into Curtis Floyd, a resident of the home in Summit. Law enforcement officials had developed probable cause to request the warrant, which was granted. Upon arrival, authorities contacted Floyd and Martin at the residence.
During the search, law enforcement recovered a pistol with an obliterated serial number, along with a bag containing various controlled substances, including 23.1 grams of powder cocaine, 0.5 grams of crack cocaine, 4.6 grams of methamphetamine, and 20 hydrocodone pills.
Both Floyd and Martin were arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, enhanced by the presence of a firearm. Floyd, already out on bond for a previous offense, faces an additional charge of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
Sheriff Bryant “Wally” Jones urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity as the investigation continues.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
