STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. — A 50-year-old local woman has been charged after allegedly stealing high-value necklaces from a jewelry shop in downtown Steamboat Springs.

Cristin Radder, of Steamboat, was arrested around 2 p.m. Tuesday in connection with the theft of jewelry worth between $1,300 and $1,500 from the Jewelry and Fossil Shop on Lincoln Avenue.

According to an arrest affidavit, store owner Bashar Alnajdawi reported that a woman entered the shop, opened a locked jewelry case, and took a gold, diamond, and ruby necklace. When a Steamboat Springs police officer arrived, a necklace was clearly missing from the display.

Surveillance video showed a woman matching Alnajdawi’s description—blonde, wearing jean shorts and a gray/blue “Marmot” T-shirt—reaching across the glass case, opening it, and removing the necklace. The woman was also seen dropping the white display stand used to showcase the jewelry.

Officers identified the suspect as Cristin Radder and visited her residence. Upon arrival, they observed Radder wearing the same outfit seen in the footage. When questioned, Radder admitted, “I have [the necklace],” and said, “I took it… without paying for it,” according to the affidavit.

Radder then voluntarily led officers inside her home, where she turned over one gold and one ruby necklace.

She has been charged with:

Theft (Class 6 Felony)

Third-Degree Burglary (Class 2 Misdemeanor)

Radder was released from the Routt County Jail just before midnight after posting $1,500 bond. Her next court appearance is scheduled for 10 a.m. on August 5.
