Ventura County Sheriff's Office busts suspected theft crew

Camarillo, CA – Ventura County Sheriff’s Office (VCSO) detectives arrested three Oxnard men suspected of being part of an organized vehicle theft crew responsible for a recent spike in car burglaries and thefts in the Camarillo area.

In a statement released by the sheriff’s office, officials said vehicle thefts rose sharply in August, particularly in the Village at the Park neighborhood.

On September 1 around 2 a.m., a VCSO detective on extra patrol near Rancho Rosal Elementary School spotted two dark-colored Infiniti sedans moving slowly through the area. One of the men was reportedly seen exiting the vehicle wearing a face mask and carrying a crowbar before quickly getting back in and leaving one car behind.

Deputies coordinated with Camarillo patrol units and conducted a traffic stop.

The suspects — Cristian Isidoro, 20, Adrian Horta, 18, and Randi Arevalo, 18 — were arrested and booked on charges of conspiracy, possession of burglary tools, and possession of stolen property.

Authorities noted that Horta is already on probation for assault and theft-related offenses.

The abandoned Infiniti was later found with a shattered passenger window. Detectives confirmed it had been stolen, though it had not yet been reported.

Investigators have not yet determined whether this group is linked to other car thefts in the area but say the investigation is ongoing.

VCSO urged residents to lock their vehicles, remove valuables, and report suspicious activity, stressing that these steps help keep communities safe.
