Country Singer Austin Tanner Faces Arrest Over Bond Violation

Tanner allegedly violated bond by attending CMA Awards without permission

Country singer Austin Tanner is facing a potential arrest after allegedly violating the terms of his bond by posting a photo of himself attending the 2024 Country Music Association (CMA) Awards. Tanner, 38, was indicted in April on charges of insurance fraud and attempted theft of property. He had been released on a $20,000 bond, with the condition that he could not leave the state of Alabama without court permission.

However, on November 21, Tanner posted an Instagram photo of himself and his wife walking the red carpet at the CMA Awards, which took place the night before in Nashville. In his caption, Tanner described the event as “magical” and a “dream come true.”

Following the post, the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office filed a motion to revoke Tanner’s bond, citing evidence that he had traveled outside Alabama without requesting permission from the court. The motion points to Tanner’s public Instagram and Facebook posts as evidence that he violated the travel restriction.

The court documents state, “Given that the Defendant was well versed in the travel conditions of his bond, and given his public disregard for those restrictions, the State seeks to revoke his bond.” An arrest warrant for Tanner was issued the following day.

The Mobile District Attorney’s Office and Tanner’s attorney, Frederick G. Helmsing Jr., have been contacted for comment.
