Cory Chaisson, 41, was arrested by the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office after a search of his home turned up a significant amount of illegal drugs. The search resulted in the seizure of 253 grams of fentanyl (about a half-pound), 43 grams of marijuana, 60 milliliters of promethazine, US currency, and a scale. Chaisson faces multiple charges, including possession with the intent to distribute fentanyl and marijuana, as well as transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses. He is also charged with three counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile and possession of a legend drug.
Chaisson’s bond has been set at $313,500. The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to work on the case.
