In a disturbing case from Mysuru’s Saligrama taluk, a policeman attached to the city armed reserve force (CAR), Panchakshari, along with his wife Dilkashi, has been arrested for the murder of his 70-year-old father, Nagaraju.
According to police, Panchakshari allegedly remained indifferent while his wife brutally assaulted Nagaraju with a wooden stick and machete over a property dispute. Nagaraju’s wife, Gowramma, filed a complaint stating that the couple had returned to the village three weeks prior to build a new house but soon demanded that the elderly couple transfer their house and land.
The violent confrontation occurred when Nagaraju was heading to the fields, after which he was found injured near their new house. Despite his injuries, Panchakshari reportedly did not assist his father or take him to the hospital.
Gowramma initially hesitated to report the crime fearing the welfare of her grandchildren but later informed villagers who alerted the police. The accused were promptly arrested by Saligrama police.
Investigation continues as the community reels from the tragic family dispute turned fatal.
