PARKER COUNTY, Texas — A contractor in Parker County was arrested on felony charges after allegedly taking a $20,000 pool deposit and failing to start any work.

Sergio Valencia, 54, owner of Valencia Custom Pools, faces charges of theft and misappropriation of trust funds, according to the Parker County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division.

The complainant hired Valencia Custom Pools in March and paid a $20,000 deposit for a pool project. However, two months later, no work had been initiated and no materials purchased or delivered.

Investigators found that Valencia had deposited the victim’s money, but bank records for Valencia Pools, LLC showed a negative balance of $12,296.19, indicating possible misuse of funds.

Valencia was arrested on September 16 by Crowley Police on a Parker County warrant and booked for felony theft and misappropriation of trust funds.

The investigation is ongoing.
