LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — American comedian and actor Jon Reep was arrested in North Carolina on September 5, facing multiple charges of child sexual exploitation.
The 53-year-old was taken into custody by the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office following an investigation that began after Hickory Police received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children on April 15, 2025. The tip involved suspected child sexual abuse material.
Reep faces one count of second-degree and nine counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. He was booked into jail and later released on a $260,000 bond, pending his next court appearance.
Detectives seized some of Reep’s personal property during the investigation, which culminated in a grand jury indictment on September 2 for crimes allegedly committed online.
Authorities continue to investigate the case.
