FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – A Fargo man was arrested early Sunday morning after allegedly attempting to break into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment and resisting arrest, causing injury to an officer.
Around 2:13 a.m., police responded to a 911 text reporting a possible burglary. The victim told dispatchers she believed her ex-boyfriend, Cole Simenson, was trying to enter her apartment but couldn’t confirm due to a lack of a peephole.
She also informed officers that Simenson had been contacting her repeatedly the night before via text and phone, but she hadn’t responded.
While speaking with the victim, an officer spotted a man—later identified as Simenson—leaving the building. He appeared nervous and tried to walk away from the scene.
When officers told Simenson he could not leave during the investigation, he became agitated and resisted arrest. During the struggle, an officer suffered minor injuries to their hand and knees.
Simenson was arrested and taken to a hospital before being booked into jail. He faces charges of felony burglary and resisting arrest causing injury.
