Coimbatore Police Arrest Three in Methamphetamine Bust

9.7g meth seized from Podanur men, NDPS case filed

The Chettipalayam police in Coimbatore district arrested three men on Thursday for the illegal possession of methamphetamine, a synthetic stimulant drug. The accused have been identified as S Kadarbasha, 29, S Shafi Khan, 39, and Balakrishnan, 34, all residents of Podanur.

Police received a tip-off about a drug sale near Orattukuppai and quickly conducted a search. The team intercepted the three men and recovered 9.7 grams of methamphetamine from their possession.

During interrogation, the accused admitted to selling the drug to youth in nearby areas. The police have seized the substances and registered a case under sections 8(c), 20(b)(ii)(B), and 29(1) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Investigations are ongoing to trace the broader network.
