The Coimbatore District Crime Branch (DCB) arrested Shanmugam (62), a resident of Viswasapuram near Saravanampatti, late Thursday. He was associated with the ‘Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Foundation’, which operated out of Sri Lakshmi Garden, Kondayampalayam Road. Shanmugam allegedly deceived several individuals by promising to arrange interest-free loans but failed to deliver on his promises, leading to complaints and his arrest.
