Cody Sutton Arrested on Drug Charges After Traffic Stop

Lenoir County detectives found MDMA, meth in vehicle search

LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. — A routine traffic stop has led to the arrest of a 25-year-old Lenoir County man, Cody Sutton, who now faces multiple drug-related charges.

On Monday, June 2, detectives from the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) Street Crimes and Rapid Response Unit pulled Sutton over for a vehicle violation. According to authorities, detectives developed probable cause during the stop and conducted a search of the vehicle.

During the search, officers discovered various controlled substances, including MDMA (ecstasy), methamphetamine, and a Schedule IV drug, along with drug paraphernalia.

Charges Filed Against Cody Sutton:
Felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance

Felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance

Misdemeanor possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance

Misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia

Sutton was booked into the Lenoir County Jail and received a $10,000 secured bond.

The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office has not released additional details, and the investigation remains ongoing.
