Clayton Mayfield Arrested for Vehicle Burglaries in Junction City

Man charged with multiple vehicle burglaries and property damage

A Junction City man is in custody after police say he attempted to break into multiple vehicles.

The Junction City Police Department arrested 21-year-old Clayton Mayfield Thursday following reports of a suspicious individual dressed in all black attempting to burglarize vehicles on Michaels Way, located on the west edge of town. During the investigation, officers recovered stolen property and returned it to four victims, including a child whose bicycle was found in possession of the suspect at the time of arrest.

Mayfield faces charges including three counts of vehicle burglary, one count of obstruction, and one count of criminal damage to property. He remains jailed in Geary County.
