SHEFFIELD, Ala. (WHNT) — Clarence Edward Jones III was arrested on January 31 in Sheffield for drug trafficking following a search of his home by local authorities. The search was conducted by agents from the Colbert County Drug Task Force, the Colbert County Sheriff’s Office, and the Sheffield Police Department.

The search warrant was executed at 804 SE 16th Street, and upon entering, Jones reportedly attempted to flee to the bathroom but was quickly apprehended. During the search of the residence, agents discovered various amounts of U.S. currency hidden in different locations within the house. Outside, agents found a small plastic bag containing cocaine in a storage building, and in a nearby glass jar, they located three bags of cocaine inside a plastic cup.

A small amount of marijuana was also found on a table in the living room. Court documents reveal that Jones was in possession of 28 grams of cocaine. As a result, he was charged with trafficking illegal drugs, specifically cocaine. Jones was given a bond of $50,000, which he posted before being released.
