BOURBON COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) — Christopher Taulbee, a 19-year-old man from Bourbon County, has been arrested and charged with two counts of murder after allegedly killing 20-year-old Dixieana Brainard and another unidentified victim on April 3, 2025.
The incident occurred in the 3900 block of Big Stoner Road. Police later apprehended Taulbee near the Rowan/Carter County line. According to an arrest citation, the circumstances surrounding his arrest were unusual. An officer in Carter County noticed a vehicle with a missing front driver’s door and a flat tire. Upon stopping the vehicle on Counts Lane near US-60 in Olive Hill, authorities identified Taulbee as the driver.
The arrest citation reports that Taulbee was naked, not wearing a seatbelt, and had blood on his hands and chest. He was taken into custody without further incident.
Taulbee is scheduled for his arraignment in Bourbon District Court on Wednesday afternoon, where he will face charges related to the double homicide. Authorities are continuing to investigate the case.
