GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) — A Grand Island man is facing two felony burglary charges in connection to thefts at Chief Buildings Office on S. North Road.
Christopher Martin, 36, was arrested Wednesday following break-ins that occurred on May 14 and June 3. In both cases, someone gained entry to the building and stole various items from office cubicles.
In the first burglary, a GoPro HERO8 camera valued at $400 was among the stolen property. The second incident involved the theft of a men’s diamond ring and office keys labeled with Chief Buildings markings.
According to the arrest affidavit, Martin was seen on surveillance footage during one of the burglaries. Investigators later discovered the same GoPro listed for sale on his public Facebook account.
Police obtained a search warrant and recovered the GoPro, the diamond ring, and the marked office keys at Martin’s residence.
Martin is being held in the Hall County Jail. At his arraignment Thursday, a judge set his bond at 10% of $50,000 and ordered him to have no contact with Chief Buildings.
His next court appearance is scheduled for July 10 at 11 a.m.
