BOISE, ID (CBS2) – A Kuna man has been sentenced to 70 years in prison for sexually abusing a minor over a one-year period.

Christoph Ketterman, 40, was sentenced by Ada County District Judge Joseph Borton, who ruled that he must serve 50 years before being eligible for parole. In addition, Ketterman was fined $40,000 and ordered to pay $332 in restitution.

A jury found Ketterman guilty in December 2024 on six counts of lewd conduct with a minor under 16 for repeated abuse in 2022 and 2023.

“Child abuse has no place in our community,” said Ada County Prosecutor Jan Bennetts. “I commend the child for bravely coming forward and thank law enforcement and my trial team for their dedication.”

Ketterman was arrested in April 2023 after a third party reported his illegal sexual contact with a young child at a home near Hubbard Road and Linder Avenue in northeast Kuna.

During the investigation, detectives found that two other children under 10 were in immediate danger at the home. As a result, they were removed and placed in the custody of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.

With a 50-year mandatory sentence, Ketterman will likely remain behind bars for life.
