Christina Cerroni Arrested for Vehicle Thefts and Shoplifting in Delaware

Newark woman charged with multiple thefts across New Castle County

Wilmington, DE — The Delaware State Police have arrested 46-year-old Christina Cerroni from Newark, Delaware, following an investigation into several vehicle thefts and shopliftings that occurred throughout New Castle County.

Between September 27, 2024, and December 29, 2024, law enforcement investigated a series of motor vehicle thefts in Wilmington and Newark. In each case, a white female suspect stole unsecured and unattended vehicles, fleeing the scene in the stolen cars. Through their investigation, troopers identified Cerroni as the suspect responsible for these thefts.

Additionally, Cerroni was found to be connected to four shoplifting incidents at the Christiana Mall Target in April and May 2024. The stolen merchandise, valued at over $1,000, was part of the investigation.

On December 30, 2024, at approximately 9:25 p.m., troopers responded to a disorderly woman at the Delaware Park Casino in Wilmington. Upon making contact with the woman, later identified as Cerroni, they took her into custody. She initially provided a false name but was quickly identified by the trooper, who was familiar with Cerroni from previous investigations.

Cerroni has been charged with:

Theft of a Motor Vehicle (Felony) – 5 counts
Shoplifting Under $1,500 – 5 counts
Theft Under $1,500
Criminal Impersonation
Disorderly Conduct
Resisting Arrest
Criminal Trespass 3rd Degree
Public Intoxication
She was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on a $2,000 cash bond.
