A 31-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a violent home invasion in Norwalk, Connecticut.
Christian Chavez-Sosa was apprehended on December 16 by U.S. Marshals in Gloverville, NY, and was transported back to Norwalk. He now faces charges of home invasion, second-degree strangulation, first-degree burglary, and three violations of a protective order.
The arrest stems from an October 30 incident in which Chavez-Sosa, despite an active protective order against him, broke into the victim’s home. Initially, he caused significant property damage before returning to terrorize the victim later that night. While the victim was in bed with their child, Chavez-Sosa strangled them, causing them to lose consciousness. The assault stopped when someone entered the room, allowing Chavez-Sosa to flee.
On November 4, Chavez-Sosa violated the protective order again by following the victim and making obscene gestures from his car. Following an extensive search, U.S. Marshals tracked him down in New York and arrested him.
Chavez-Sosa is being held on a $300,000 bond for the home invasion and $50,000 for the third violation of the protective order. He is scheduled to appear in court on December 23, 2024.
