On Sunday, August 31, 2025, the Chittoor Police arrested a 26-year-old burglar, G. Prashanth, from Ranipet district, Tamil Nadu. The police recovered stolen gold ornaments valued at around Rs11 lakh from him.
Superintendent of Police V.N. Manikanta Chandolu revealed that Prashanth had been involved in multiple burglaries across the jurisdictions of Penumur, Chittoor Taluk, and Narasingarayani Peta police stations.
The accused reportedly scouted for locked houses during the day and executed burglaries at night, primarily targeting almirahs and puja rooms to steal valuables.
The police are continuing investigations to determine if he is connected to other cases in the region.
