In a significant crackdown on narcotics, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) arrested six individuals for allegedly transporting drugs from Mumbai and selling them across Mangaluru and surrounding areas.
The accused have been identified as:
Chirag Sanil of Kavoor
Alvin Clinton D’Souza of Ashok Nagar
E.K. Abdul Karim of Mallapuram, Kerala
Janan of Kulashekara
Rajesh Bangera of Boloor
Varun Ganiga of Dambel
Except for Karim, all others are residents of Mangaluru.
During the operation, police seized 111.83 grams of MDMA valued at Rs22.3 lakh and 21.03 grams of cocaine worth Rs1.9 lakh, bringing the total seizure value to Rs24.2 lakh.
The gang is suspected to have procured the drugs from Mumbai and distributed them to local consumers in Mangaluru city and nearby areas.
Police are continuing their investigation to uncover further links in the drug distribution network and determine the source of the narcotics.
