Chinnapa 3 Others Held in Rs2.4 Lakh Power Cable Theft in Goa

1.5 km of aluminium conductor stolen from substation

In a swift operation, Old Goa Police arrested four men for stealing 1.5 kilometers of Casablanca Aluminium Conductor, valued at Rs2.4 lakh, from the 110/33KV Sub Station located at Kadamba Plateau on April 8.

The Accused:
Chinnapa alias Gundya – Resident of New Vaddem

Moinuddin Shaikh – Resident of Baina

S Kumar Rathod – Resident of Sancoale

Immanuel Lamani – Resident of Mangoor Hill

The accused reportedly used a pickup vehicle to transport the stolen high-tension conductor, which is critical for electricity transmission.

The case highlights increasing threats to public infrastructure and the importance of rapid police response to prevent losses in essential services. Police are now investigating whether the accused are linked to similar thefts in other parts of the state.
